I am the husband of one and the homeschooling father of five. I am a singer, songwriter, and a worship leader who plays guitar and piano. I am the Executive Director of Trinity Arts Center, a small Christian Arts Academy in Eastern Tennessee. I'm also a guitar teacher and -- I spend about half my time building web sites and helping companies organize their thoughts, fine tune their products, and turn their customers into company evangelists. I've been involved with four music projects in my life -- Hot Pink Turtle, Spin Radio, Stand Like Stone, and of course, Jamin Rathbun. I'm also training to be an Ultimate Fighter (that's not true). = )
My heart feels as if it's holding back tears.
I don't have a voice.
When I speak,
To try and make things clear.
More angry with every word.
A fear of failure, and of being discovered.
It is difficult.
To set aside a loving eye.
And see the holes we've left.
The empty space where we should have found something to fill.
Something passionate.
Something good.
Something worthy of his gifts.
Brilliant.
Talented.
Blessed.
Uninspired.
Empty.
Too close to home.
Too close to me.
A strong desire to change his heart.
To change my own.
I'm failing to lead.
Failing to be that thing.
That brings together.
That holds together.
That inspires.
I'm tired of missing.
Tired of misunderstanding.
Failing.
Fallen.
Broken
Beaten.
No more.
I don't have a voice.
When I speak,
To try and make things clear.
More angry with every word.
A fear of failure, and of being discovered.
It is difficult.
To set aside a loving eye.
And see the holes we've left.
The empty space where we should have found something to fill.
Something passionate.
