Who is this Jamin guy anyway?
I am the husband of one and the homeschooling father of five. I am a singer, songwriter, and a worship leader who plays guitar and piano. I am the Executive Director of Trinity Arts Center, a small Christian Arts Academy in Eastern Tennessee. I'm also a guitar teacher and -- I spend about half my time building web sites and helping companies organize their thoughts, fine tune their products, and turn their customers into company evangelists. I've been involved with four music projects in my life -- Hot Pink Turtle, Spin Radio, Stand Like Stone, and of course, Jamin Rathbun. I'm also training to be an Ultimate Fighter (that's not true). = )



As of Friday, I am no longer (as heavy metal frontman Sebastian Bach would say) a "slave to the grind." = ) The company I've been working with has officially completed the product development and launch that I've been managing so -- that (combined with the fact that they are filing Chapter 11) signals that the time has come to bid adieu.

There have been several signals that all was not well here over the last few months so the lay-off wasn't a complete surprise but -- I'm still a little bummed that I don't get to be a part of where the product is going. My boss, and the entire products team, are really good folks and I'm going to miss them.

At the same time, I've been increasingly involved in expanding my wifes ballet school into a full-blown Christian Arts Academy so... I'm using the sudden end of this position as motivation to focus on the growth at Trinity Arts Center and -- to have a go at doing my own thing. The reality is that working for myself just fits better into our lifestyle and allows me to support my kids, and my wife, much better than when I'm making the daily commute.
