Philippians 2:14-18
Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life -- in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.

Church gives me gas?
Sorry about that title -- I just couldn't resist. = )

Anyway... Apparently The Crossing Community Church in Chandler, AZ is giving away free gas to first time guests. Since the offer began, they've nearly doubled the size of their weekly attendance (from 80 to 150). The pastor had this to say:
"This is a short-term work that meets a short-term need, just like the feeding of the 5,000. But it gets people in a place to hear the Gospel and let Jesus meet their long-term needs."
P.S. I'll give a quick shout out to Quik Trip while I'm at it (the source for many of the gas cards). We don't have them around here but -- in the midwest... They are the best convenience store ever, with about every fountain drink combination you can imagine. Good stuff. = )
P.S.S. Thanks to Monday Morning Insight for the link.
