Who is this Jamin guy anyway?
I am the husband of one and the father of nine. I was created to sing, to worship, to encourage, and to be steady. I am the Owner & Executive Director of Trinity Arts Center, a multi-disciplinary Arts Center in Eastern Tennessee, and the President of Trinity Arts Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on funding arts education and performance. I've been involved with four music projects in my life -- Hot Pink Turtle, Spin Radio, Stand Like Stone, and of course, Jamin Rathbun.

In 2013, I added my Twitter feed to this site (below). To view the old content, just scroll down past the Twitter timeline. To keep in the loop on new posts, thoughts, and updates, just follow me on Twitter using the button below. Thanks!

Galatians 5:13
You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.

La La La
Those of you who know me very well -- know that I'm not a big fan of "La La" songs. Yessir, the quickest way to keep your worship song off my play list is to throw in the obligatory "La La" chorus. = (

With that said, my youngest daughter Katie (3 years) has been loving a song by Matthew West called Next Thing You Know. One of the Christian radio stations where I live, WCQR, has been playing this song in heavy rotation for about 6 months so -- about every other time I'm in the car with my kids... I have to turn this song up really loud so they all can sing along.

From that song alone, I'd pegged this guy to be a Sugar Ray knock-off and probably not something I'd add to my iPod roster. That was, until I heard some of the other songs on this disc. Sure -- the dics has a bit of an identity crisis, jumping between the rock-pop vibe of Next Thing You Know and the poetic and serious tones of song like Only Grace and History but, overall, there's some decent stuff here. I'm not going to take the time to do an in-depth review... Suffice to say that I'm confident you'll be able to find something you like. Check it out when you have time.

I can count this as Science right?
Any of you homeschool dads out there will appreciate the Science project (aka: Air Cannon) I found online today. A little PVC, a couple valves, teflon tape, 20 minutes and voila! The site includes a shopping list and pics so you can assemble it pretty easily. I'll let you know how mine turns out. = )

By the way, check out this site if you'd prefer to build something has a higher danger quotient (fire, hair removal, and flammable gas). Have a great weekend!
