Who is this Jamin guy anyway?
I am the husband of one and the father of nine. I was created to sing, to worship, to encourage, and to be steady. I am the Owner & Executive Director of Trinity Arts Center, a multi-disciplinary Arts Center in Eastern Tennessee, and the President of Trinity Arts Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on funding arts education and performance. I've been involved with four music projects in my life -- Hot Pink Turtle, Spin Radio, Stand Like Stone, and of course, Jamin Rathbun.

In 2013, I added my Twitter feed to this site (below). To view the old content, just scroll down past the Twitter timeline. To keep in the loop on new posts, thoughts, and updates, just follow me on Twitter using the button below. Thanks!

Psalm 51:1-2
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

Chris Tomlin has a new single out...
It's his version of "Amazing Grace" with the addition of a new chorus subtitled parenthetically as (My Chains Are Gone).

The refrain goes:
"My chains are gone. I've been set free. My God, my Savior has ransomed me. And like a flood, His mercy rains. Unending love. Amazing Grace."

Good stuff. = )

Anyway... WorshipTogether.com includes a video sample of Chris playing the song as part of this months New Song Cafe. You guys know I'm a huge Tomlin fan so I'll admit a little bias but -- definitely check this one out.

Note: WorshipTogether.com requires that you create an account to see their special features so... You may need to sign up before you can see the video.

Integrity Song Writer Contest
Integrity is putting on a series of seminars for worship leaders that began a few months ago in Mobile, AL and will wrap up in Palm Beach Gardens, FL later this year.

In addition to the seminars (which look pretty cool), they are also organizing a Songwriter's Retreat on August 22-25 that includes the opportunity to win a single song publishing deal with Integrity Music. Their web site introduces it this way:

"If you are a serious songwriter or worship leader you will want to be a part of this completely unique, intimate retreat among the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains. It is an unprecedented opportunity for both developing and mature writers to be spiritually encouraged, hone their craft, share songs and develop new relationships with respected professionals like Don Moen, Paul Baloche, Brian Doerksen, Lincoln Brewster and Miriam Webster (Hillsong). Enjoy instruction, fellowship, and times of deep refreshing with worship leaders and songwriters who the Holy Spirit has utilized to help shape the contour of modern worship. Plus, have your song reviewed by leading songwriters and share your work with fellow attendees. The retreat starts on Tuesday evening and ends before noon on Friday."

The deadline to submit songs is July 24th so... Send them in and -- good luck!
