Who is this Jamin guy anyway?
I am the husband of one and the father of nine. I was created to sing, to worship, to encourage, and to be steady. I am the Owner & Executive Director of Trinity Arts Center, a multi-disciplinary Arts Center in Eastern Tennessee, and the President of Trinity Arts Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on funding arts education and performance. I've been involved with four music projects in my life -- Hot Pink Turtle, Spin Radio, Stand Like Stone, and of course, Jamin Rathbun.

From Hannah's prayer, when she dedicated Samuel.

1 Samuel 2:3, 6-7
Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the LORD is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed... The LORD brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and he raises up. The LORD sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts.

I've known verses 6-8 for a long time but I'd never paid much attention to the earlier part of Hannah's prayer. Now that I've taken the time to meditate on it a bit, I love the first few verses a lot. = ) Rather than expound on the passage or share what God is teaching me... I just encourage you to read the entire story, especially the beginning of her prayer, and listen to what God has for you to hear.

Hebrews 4:12-13
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Free Music!
WorshipTogether.com is offering free access to 6 new songs from Christian music's best and brightest. = )

The songs are part of the "New Voices Of Worship" CD from WorshipTogether.com, Sparrow Records, Survivor Records, and Six Steps Records.

First, a complaint... = (
I couldn't get the .wma files to play correctly, leaving me a bit baited and switched. Why can't they just use standard mp3 files, rather than the Microsoft tainted .wma format? Sheesh! = (

Regardless, I poked through the 30 second clips included in the e-card so I was able to hear a sample of the songs I wasn't already familiar with. I already own discs from Starfield, Brenton Brown, and Charlie Hall so I'm not sure, from the 30 second samples I heard, that I'll shell out the cash for the other songs on this disc. With that said... I probably will give Vicki, Tim, and Robbie another listen once they're up on iTunes and -- I definitely recommend taking advantage of the free audio files (if you can play them). = )

By the way, the disc includes:
  1. Son Of God - Starfield (great song!)
  2. Yesterday, Today, & Forever - Vicky Beeching
  3. Name Above All Names - Tim Hughes
  4. Faith Of Our Fathers - Robbie Seay Band
  5. So Alive - Brenton Brown
  6. My Generation - Starfield
  7. Captivated - Vicky Beeching (sounds good from the 30 seconds I heard)
  8. Song Of The Redeemed - Charlie Hall
  9. Beautiful One - Tim Hughes (a little too pop for me, but good)
  10. Hallelujah - Brenton Brown (great song, although I like it a bit slower) = )
  11. Hallelujah God Is Near - Robbie Seay Band (sounds good from the 30 seconds I heard)
  12. Marvelous Light - Charlie Hall (really great song!)
