Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Psalm 19:14
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Redemption Songs
Jars Of Clay released a great album in early 2005 that includes one of my favorite songs of last year -- "God Will Lift Up Your Head." It's probably not the kind of song that you'd bring to your corporate worship but -- it's a great song.

Despite containing primarily hymns, it's hard to call this album a "worship" album. Old standards like "I Need Thee Every Hour", "I'll Fly Away", "Nothing But The Blood", and "It Is Well With My Soul" pay tribute to the songs I was raised on but -- they are delivered with such a different flavor, that it's hard to still classify them as hymns.
That isn't to say that they are bad by any means. This album has a certain authenticity that is really appealing. The recording has a very raw vibe to it, feeling very warm and intimate and comfortable and familar. In most cases, the guys do a great job of bringing new life to songs that a lot of Christians in this generation haven't been exposed to. The album, as a whole, is a great body of work and well worth the $12-15 to pick it up (or $9.99 download on iTunes). = )
