I am the husband of one and the homeschooling father of five. I am a singer, songwriter, and a worship leader who plays guitar and piano. I am the Executive Director of Trinity Arts Center, a small Christian Arts Academy in Eastern Tennessee. I'm also a guitar teacher and -- I spend about half my time building web sites and helping companies organize their thoughts, fine tune their products, and turn their customers into company evangelists. I've been involved with four music projects in my life -- Hot Pink Turtle, Spin Radio, Stand Like Stone, and of course, Jamin Rathbun. I'm also training to be an Ultimate Fighter (that's not true). = )
2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you? Unless, of course, you fail the test?

I'm crazy busy this week but I'm going to try to dig deeper into this concept of testing that Paul mentions in this passage. What is this "test" and how do we know if we pass?

These posts don't provide Dan's usual detailed analysis and insight but -- a few of them are thought provoking. They are:
- Gut Check #1
In the course of your lifetime, how many people have you led to Christ? - Gut Check #2
Do you ever sit in church on Sunday and wonder "Is this the best it will ever be?" - Gut Check #3
Have you ever wondered if you've naturally (through cultural osmosis) fallen into a lifestyle that is antithetical to real, vibrant Christianity? And worse, you're not sure how to change or you don't grasp what a more godly lifestyle looks like in America 2006? - Gut Check #4
Will you lose your standing at church or the support of Christian family and friends if you finally, publicly confess the sin you've kept secret for years? - Gut Check #5
(For some reason, Dan didn't create a #5 for the series.) - Gut Check #6
Why is it that you have so much faith when praying for others in need, but never for yourself? - Gut Check #7When you look over your life and consider the problems that won't go away or the spiritual lethargy you constantly struggle against, do you sometimes ask yourself, Am I truly saved?
