I am the husband of one and the homeschooling father of five. I am a singer, songwriter, and a worship leader who plays guitar and piano. I am the Executive Director of Trinity Arts Center, a small Christian Arts Academy in Eastern Tennessee. I'm also a guitar teacher and -- I spend about half my time building web sites and helping companies organize their thoughts, fine tune their products, and turn their customers into company evangelists. I've been involved with four music projects in my life -- Hot Pink Turtle, Spin Radio, Stand Like Stone, and of course, Jamin Rathbun. I'm also training to be an Ultimate Fighter (that's not true). = )
To pew or not to pew?
Dan Kimball, from Vintage Faith Church explores the idea of pews in church and what they might say about what church is about.
Acts 2:42-47
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

I've done a bit of reading on the "communal" nature of the first generation church and there are some things that are really appealing (and much different then) how most of us "do" church nowadays. It wasn't a perfect model and they experienced a lot of errors and abuses back then too but -- there's something really appealing about that kind of community. There's a lot more to say here but -- I'll have to get into that another time... Maybe Monday. = )

The only catch (as hinted above) is that you have to give him the email addresses of five other people so that He can spread the word about the free release (He promises not to misuse them). = ) Once you do that, you get to download the entire album of mp3's for free. I haven't listened to the whole CD yet but hey -- free is free. Why not check him out?
Where's that other candy corn?
Mahjong is a simple match game where you pair tiles in order to remove them from a "board" of stacked tiles.

It's not exactly what I'd call action-packed but -- it's a good way to give your brain a rest (or at least a different kind of workout) after a long week. = ) Have fun!
