I am the Owner & Executive Director of Trinity Arts Center, a multi-disciplinary Arts Center in Eastern Tennessee, and the President of Trinity Arts Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on funding arts education and performance. Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. Even after our three days of prayer passages last month... I still find myself struggling to understand how an omniscient and omnipresent God hears and responds to the request of His people. That's why I love the plain spoken language in this passage... Elijah (a man just like us) prayed specifically that it wouldn't rain, and it didn't for three and a half years. Now there's an answer to prayer. = )

Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him?
James 4:2-3
You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives...
