Who is this Jamin guy anyway?
I am the husband of one and the father of nine. I was created to sing, to worship, to encourage, and to be steady. I am the Owner & Executive Director of Trinity Arts Center, a multi-disciplinary Arts Center in Eastern Tennessee, and the President of Trinity Arts Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on funding arts education and performance. I've been involved with four music projects in my life -- Hot Pink Turtle, Spin Radio, Stand Like Stone, and of course, Jamin Rathbun.

In 2013, I added my Twitter feed to this site (below). To view the old content, just scroll down past the Twitter timeline. To keep in the loop on new posts, thoughts, and updates, just follow me on Twitter using the button below. Thanks!

Romans 8:28-30
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

There's some great stuff in Romans 8. I'm listing a few of the key verses here but please check it out in its entirety when you have time.

Romans 8:35, 37-39
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Wow. What hope in those words, especially in contrast to the thoughts from yesterday. This entire chapter speaks about our life through the Spirit, our freedom from the law of sin and death, and the future glory, in which, we are playing a part.

So... I may not have my head wrapped entirely around the whole "some for noble, some for common" thing. But what I do know is that once you have been called by God -- you can bank on the fact that you will also be justified and glorified -- and nothing in all creation can take that away.

That reminds me of another passage that may give some hope to anyone out there that doesn't feel, to this point, like they've been called.

Jeremiah 29:13
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

And for those of you who are being called, but aren't responding. Please don't hesitate any longer. I have a feeling that, at some point, God either quits calling or our heart just doesn't hear him anymore so, please... Answer his call.

Turn $.02 into $10,737,418.24 for FREE!
Moola.com just released a beta version of their new "AdverTournament" site offering free money to anyone willing to watch a few commercials and pony up against an opponent in a double-or-nothing style tournament.

This, I think, has the potential to big a pretty big deal. I doubt many people will play it for very long but... I imagine a lot of people will play it for a little while, generating a lot of advertising revenue for the folks who put it together. Is it the next big thing? Maybe? Or maybe it's the folks over at 1000 Paintings?

The beauty of the game (for the creators) is that although you can potentially cash out for over 10 million in just 30 games... Who would actually put more on the line than say, $5,000? I can't imagine someone working their way to that point and actually risking it on a strategified (good word huh?) game of "Ro-Sham-Bo" or, my favorite, the gold nugget collecting and teeter-totter tipping "Gold Rush".

In my brief experience, it's been about a 50/50 split between wins and losses so I"m not getting anywhere fast. Regardless, they keep throwing new money into the kitty for me to keep playing -- and watching commercials -- and for now... It's kind of fun. = )

Anyway... I know it's a day early for this week's game link but... I've got something else in mind for tomorrow and I didn't want to sit on this until next week.

P.S. The site requires that you sign up for an invitation before you can actually begin playing. If I remember right, it took a few days for my official invite to arrive. A tip of the hat to the Google-esque idea that exclusivity breeds buzz. = ) I suppose Seth Godin and Hugh Macleod deserve a nod while I'm at it.

P.S.S. Thanks to Jose for the link to 1,000 Paintings. He's even the proud owner of one. = )
