Who is this Jamin guy anyway?
I am the husband of one and the father of nine. I was created to sing, to worship, to encourage, and to be steady. I am the Owner & Executive Director of Trinity Arts Center, a multi-disciplinary Arts Center in Eastern Tennessee, and the President of Trinity Arts Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on funding arts education and performance. I've been involved with four music projects in my life -- Hot Pink Turtle, Spin Radio, Stand Like Stone, and of course, Jamin Rathbun.

In 2013, I added my Twitter feed to this site (below). To view the old content, just scroll down past the Twitter timeline. To keep in the loop on new posts, thoughts, and updates, just follow me on Twitter using the button below. Thanks!

Matthew 3:16
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.

Acts 1:4-5
But wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

My oldest daughter was baptized on Saturday. = )

In preparation for that event, we've been talking, over the past few months, about what it means to be "saved" and why she should be baptized. In addition, we've been talking about the follow-up items to salvation, namely -- baptism and the Holy Spirit (and the resulting fruits).

John 14:16
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.

John 14:26
The Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Anyway... I just wanted you guys to welcome one of my baby girls into the Body. = ) I'll try to share more this week about the Holy Spirit. That's a topic I'd love to dig into a bit.

Just an interesting quote I came across last week. I haven't been able to hunt down the context of the quote but, I thought it was worth passing on...

Riches are the least worthy of gifts which God can give a man. What are they to God's word, to bodily gifts, such as beauty and health, or to the gifts of the mind, such as understanding, skill, wisdom! Yet men toil for them day and night, and take no rest. Therefore God commonly gives riches to foolish people, to whom he gives nothing else. - Martin Luther

By the way, I stumbled across The Quotable Christian while I was searching for the origin of the quote. It's also worth a peek when you have time.
